Hello, my dear friends! 

Today I will show you a quick and fun tutorial on how I decorated cheap plastic pumpkins for my kitchen windowsill. This video was ready right before Halloween, but it is still a little acute, I think. I like to keep my autumn decorations around the house until December.

Sometimes, I start working on a mixed media project and I have no idea what my project will turn out like. Yes, zero thoughts! It does happen when I am tired and I need to relax. And I love relaxing while playing with my paints, sprays, squirts and all the other possible media, just mixing it all together and surprising myself with the possible results.

So this is how I made these pumpkins. I mixed some media with our awesome Lindy´s Gang products, and I simply enjoyed the process. It was really fun!

So here is the video tutorial

Basic Process

• First, I covered the plastic pumpkins with matte medium (just because I lacked transparent gesso :).
• Then I added some Golden Nugget effect paste on top of the pumpkins. Later, I covered most of it with embellishments, but it was still fun :))
• Later, I added some yellow crackle varnish on top of it all, sealing the dried effect paste and adding some minor crackles on to the surface.
• I added some pearly sparkle to the pumpkins by sprinkling some Mica powder on top of them.
• Then, I colored the lace and ribbon, as well as the pumpkins with Lindy´s Gang sprays and ribbons: Orange Creamsicle, Pop Rock Purple, Buccaneer Bronze, Polite People Purple, Maple Syrup Bronze.
• Some colorful additions with embossing powder Twilight Blue Slate. It was not very visible in the end, but I was curious on how it would turn out :)
• After all the color invasion, I decided to add some stamping on the pumpkins.
• Then, I glued on all the embellishments using the hot melt glue. And then I added some minor color touches to the embellishments with the same Lindy`s products I used before, so that the embellishments would not look too foreign on the project.
• After that, I added some glamorous glitter to the pumpkins, and that is it, they are ready!

Привет! 

У нас в Инстаграме в блоге Глубины Подсознания продолжается СП "90-е". 

3 этап проекта "Назад в 90-е". Тема: "Малиновый пиджак". Девяностые — это время, когда Dolce&Gabbana можно было примерить на рынке прямо на картонке, а все вещи "от кутюр" возились в больших клетчатых сумках. В моде были малиновые пиджаки, а надеть всё лучшее сразу — тренд, которым не пренебрегала ни одна модница. Впрочем, некоторые позволяли себе лишь лосины и леопардовое платье в облипку, без излишеств. Итак, "Малиновый пиджак". Всё-таки мы о моде ;) 

Мода и я в 90-е были несовместимы :) Носилось то, что где-то доставала мама, часто секонд-хенд, а самые шикарные вещи в моем гардеробе мама шила сама. В их числе, например, были кожаные брюки и юбка. На выпускной в 9-м классе мне заказали у портники брючный костюм (чтоб практично!), а цвет оставили на мое усмотрение. Это было в конце 90-х и у нас в стране был бум салатового и оранжевого! Вот не знаю, насколько это было глобально, но в Эстонии эти цвета были популярны довольно долго. Итак, мой выпускной костюм был ярко-салатовым, а еще в гардеробе поселились тогда оранжевые джинсы и черные сандали на огромной платформе, а в косметичке куча косметики тоже жгуче-черного цвета. 

Все вышеупомянутые вещи виделись мне тогда жутко модными, а я сама себе казалось в них супер-звездой :)) К слову, мыльницей сделанных фоток с тех пор сохранилось крайне мало, но те, что есть умиляют меня по сей день. Поэтому и страничка получилась такая добрая, наивистическая, в актуальных для меня тогда цветах. На фото мне лет 16, я жутко перебарщиваю с дешевой косметикой и кажусь сама себе неотразимой (ну кто через такое не проходил? :)

Обратите внимание на зеркала на страничке - они настоящие и отражают мою вполне беззаботную в то время реальность.  

МК по гламурным закладкам / Mixed Media Bookmarks Tutorial

ENG Dear Mixed Media Place friends! Greetings! This is my first blog post for this beautiful blog, and I am very happy to share with you my art. I am a huge book fan, so here is something that I wanted to make for a long time already: the mixed media bookmarks for my books! I am sure this glamorous couple is just a start for a much bigger collection in the future. And they are a great gift for friends too, aren't they?

I like to recycle my art and craft products´packages, so I used one for the base of my bookmarks. I strengthened them from the backside with a textile tape, and covered the all with Heavy Black Gesso. So the bookmarks turned out pretty flexible and elastic. Then, I added some color and texture using a turquoise embossing powder and a heat tool. The next step: white modeling paste through a 7 Dost Studio stencil, to create more texture. 

TUTORIAL

The bookmarks need to be totally flat, so the only decorations I could allow here were paper die cuts and some stamps. I glued them all on, and colored the bookmarks and the embellishments with golden, blue and black acrylic paints - all sparky and shiny! I also added some blue glitter on them, and sealed it all with Soft Gloss Medium, so there would be no chance for my bookmarks to leave any stains on the book pages.

Final touch: I added a beautiful brad and a faux crystal swinging element to the bookmarks to make them look even more chic. And voilà, everything is ready!

В блоге Lindy´s Gang как всегда 1 числа вышел новый color challenge (т. е. задание по палитре)! Зеленая цветовая гамма - моя самая любимая, а потому я не смогла пройти мимо и сделала тоже работу по нашей палитре. У меня получился таинственный лес на основе шэдоу бокса. Приглашаю к просмотру!

Здравствуйте, друзья! 

У меня классная новость - я теперь вхожу в состав ДК любомого многими миксмедийного блога Mixed Media Place! Вот какой мне сделали красивый баннер :) И как раз на днях у нас вышла новая доска вдохновения, по которой я сделала свою первую страничку. Приглашаю всех присоединяться! I love the autumn colors most of all, so our October challenge mood board is very inspiring. My autumnal layout is made on the background of patterned paper, but I also included a lot of scraps cut out of the magazine, as well as die cuts, chipboard, handmade flowers and hand-painted leaves to reflect the richness of the season. I used watercolors, spray ink and rust pastes to paint the scraps and flowers, as well as distress pad to retouch the edges of the main photo to make it look more vintage. Melange and glitter add interesting final touches to the multi-layered layout.
