В Mixed Media Place новое задание, очень красивая спокойная палитра (см. ниже). У меня по ней сложился разворот в арт-бук, а что сделаете вы?

ENG This month we have a wonderful calm mood board for you to get inspired by! I decided to create freely in my art book. The blank page in the art journal allows to let it go completely, create with less perfection and more authenticity. This time I got inspired by the round shapes and the colors on our mood board, and played around with stamps and inks.

«В смысловом блоге @glubiny_podsoznaniya продолжается ассоциативное задание "Хромотипия". Скажу честно, для меня задание на ассоциацию оказалось сложным, так как я изначально знала, что такое "хромотипия" в искусстве, в частности, в графике, да и в типографии тоже. Очень сложно отвлечься от значения термина и посмотреть на слово под каким-то другим абстрактным углом. В итоге вдохновилась нашей палитрой с баннера и... горкой ненужных пуговиц :) 

Смысловой ряд был такой: хром - то есть цвет - что-то яркое / тип - необычная личность - выбивающийся из толпы индивид... Страничка про белых ворон, про черных овец, про разноцветные пуговицы в нашем обществе. Каждый человек на Земле уникален, но лишь некоторые особенно яркие личности выбиваются из толпы и остаются в истории. 

Altered Harry Potter magic wand in a box TUTORIAL / Видео-MK

Сегодня хочу показать Вам свою новую работу, по которой сняла подробный МК. Я когда-то давно уже купила светящуюся в темноте волшебную палочку Гарри Поттера, неплохую, но простенькую пластмассовую имитацию в картонной коробке. Покупала конкретно с мыслью, что задекорирую коробку под сказочный ларец. И вот, наконец-то, час пробил. Смотрите МК! Надеюсь, Вам будет интересно.

ENG Today I am here to show you my brand new video tutorial on a fairy tale altered object. Long ago, I bought a plastic Harry Potter wand in a cardboard box. I had this certain thought in my head that I want to alter the box to look it more like a real magic wand storage.

My main focus was on the box, which I wanted to turn into something magical, more suitable for the powerful wand of Harry Potter. I intentionally used the snakeskin texture and a deer on the box, referring to the magic wand owner. 

First of all, I painted the whole box with Heavy Gesso Black, attaching the chipboard to the surface with the same medium. Then I applied the snakeskin texture, using the beautiful mixed media stencil. I glued on some clay decorations that I made for this project, using an air hardening clay and a beautiful silicone mold. I also added some extra texture with White Sand Texture Paste, and painted all black again.

Shimmer sprays were just perfect to add mystical shades of color to the surface of the box. The colorful waxes helped to bring out the structure of the clay decorations. And I also did add some toppings to the surface, using 3D Gloss Gel to glue all the tiny particles.

The magic wand itself looked a little bit too new and too plastic, so I tuned it with wax and brown rust paste, so it would look more organic in the mixed media box. The interior of the box was also modified - I dyed some lace with ink sprays and glued it inside the box.

Door Hanger Tutorial / МК по табличке на дверь

Hi beautiful Lindy’s gang! 

Here is my new tutorial on a neo-vintage door hanger. This is a very necessary thing in my house! It has no sign “Do not disturb” on it, but when my kids see it on my studio door, they know that they should not come in at the moment, because their mommy is filming a new tutorial for the Lindy´s Gang friends and followers.

Here is how I made the door hanger.

BASIC PROCESS

• I took a plywood blank and applied some texture through a stencil, using white modeling paste. I had not covered the blank with gesso first, because I wanted to impregnate it with inks to achieve a certain colorful effect.
• Then I colored the dried blank, using Lindy´s Gang sprays Moon Shadow Mist Phantom Fuchsia and Starburst Red Hot Poker Orange. The chipboard key was then colored with Maple Syrup Bronze squirt.
• After everything was dry, I assembled all the details on the door hanger, attaching the chipboard, the metal embellishments and the handmade flower with contact glue. I died all the embellishments with the same sprays and squirt.
• Later, I enriched the mixed media background with text stamps and golden pen doodling. And added a beautiful greenish tone to the background and embellishments with Beaver Tail Brown squirt.
• As a final touch, I added golden glass glitter to the door hanger to make it look more glamorous.
